Great Pizza

Posted by CriticalEater on 8/26/2009

The Isles Leaning Tower Pizza is extremely good! Onion, hamburger, pepperoni and Pepperoncini peppers make for a great combination. This is a bar mainly with a large take out pizza operation. You may be in for a long wait on a busy night or weekend afternoon, but it's worth it. Order a few beers, admire the cute bar maids, and relax!

Best Pizza in the metro

Isles Pizza is probably one of the best-kept secrets in the Lincoln metro. Their pizza is fabulous regardless of which type you get; however I'm partial to their "Leaning Tower of Pizza," the name for their own super combination. Their pizza crust is very much like Valentino's USED to be; that is before they got so large and automated. Their biggest drawbacks are: 1) they don't deliver (unless you have it delivered by Metro Dining Delivery), and 2) they have limited hours. Remember too that the Isles is for the most part a pub and not primarily a pizza restaurant, so the atmosphere definitely reflects that. If you get a pizza from the Isles, you definitely won't be disappointed!

Great pizza!

The Isles Pub and Pizza is a nice change of pace for Lincoln. It's high on my list because it's a locally owned restaurant and I prefer that over a franchise any time. It also has that "unknown" quality that I like, kind of like it's a well-kept secret. The pizza is very good. The crust isn't too thick and it's not too thin. The Leaning Tower of Pizza was a little heavy on onions the time I tried it but still very good. The last time I went ot the Isles for lunch I had intended to order pizza but the lunch special was a ot beef sandwich, so I went with that. That turned out to be an excellent choice too.The service is great here and the atmosphere is just like you'd expect from a hometown bar. I would go back anytime. If you live in Lincoln, you need to be able to say you've had pizza at the Isles, if only for your street cred as a Lincoln eater. Think of it as a scouting mission for a trip to Misty's across the steet, another Lincoln dining institution.
